Hi there! Welcome to my website. A little about me. Like most braiders, I learned this skill as a young girl, around 9 years old. At the time my mom was an apprentice here in Atlanta and she brought home a mannequin head. What started off as a teaching moment turned in to a hobby which later revealed itself as a passion.

Braids by Mel was started in 2013 in Orlando, Florida by a hungry college student who needed a few dollars for gas money and some groceries. 

I had no idea I would be doing this as a first career but I'm very grateful for the opportunity and look forward to seeing where it takes me.  I also can't wait to meet you!
